Tabor Winery has launched Artisanal, a new premium wine brand positioned for restaurants, specialty wine retailers, and direct-to-consumer channels. The collection marks a strategic shift for the Israeli winery, which has restructured its portfolio into two distinct pillars: the new Artisanal line for fine wine channels and the broader Tabor label for everyday wines.

Terroir-Focused Winemaking Artisanal wines are sourced from Israel's most diverse growing regions—the Galilee, Golan Heights, and Jerusalem Mountains—with each vineyard plot selected for its unique microclimate and soil composition. Early releases include Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Marselan, and Roussanne, emphasizing balance, elegance, and complexity. Head Winemaker Or Nadbach directs the brand's development. Nadbach holds degrees in Plant Sciences from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and in Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis, with prior winemaking experience at Acacia Winery in Napa Valley before joining Tabor in 2014. He was appointed Head Winemaker in 2024.

Strategic Evolution "Artisanal is a natural evolution for Tabor and a reflection of how far Israeli winemaking has come," said Roy Harel, Wine Business Unit Director for Tabor Winery. "With this collection, we are able to highlight the nuance of our vineyard sites and craft wines that truly express the diversity of Israel's terroir—from the Galilee to the Jerusalem Mountains—while delivering the quality and sophistication today's global wine consumer expects." Founded in 1999 and located in Israel's Lower Galilee, Tabor Winery has operated for 25 years with a commitment to sustainable viticulture and innovation. The winery's vineyards span multiple regions and are cultivated using eco-friendly practices.

Market Context

The launch arrives as Israeli wines gain increased global recognition for quality and distinctive Mediterranean character. Josh Greenstein, Executive Director of the Israeli Wine Producers Association, noted that "Tabor Winery is demonstrating the depth, sophistication, and global potential of Israeli wines. This collection speaks directly to the premium consumer and reinforces Israel's position as one of the most exciting and dynamic wine regions in the world today." Artisanal wines are rolling out in select markets with availability in leading restaurants, wine boutiques, and specialty retailers.

Why It Matters

For on-premise and off-premise operators, Artisanal represents a curated Israeli option in the premium segment—a category where Israeli producers have historically held limited shelf space. The dual-brand strategy signals Tabor's intent to serve both fine dining establishments seeking distinctive, terroir-driven expressions and retailers seeking higher-margin, small-batch portfolios.
