Two High-Proof Releases Highlight August Drop River Roots Barrel Company is releasing two limited-edition whiskeys this August, headlined by a pair of high-proof pours that reflect the company's focus on single-barrel selections. Proof of Existence, an 11-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon, carries 136.32 proof and features a mashbill of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley. Distilled in Clermont, Kentucky, it carries tasting notes of maple bacon and honey on the nose, with pineapple and dark chocolate on the palate. The finish showcases fudge brownie notes. It is priced at $148.98 plus tax and shipping. Hot Honey, a 12-year-old American malt whiskey finished in honey barrels, clocks in at 163.24 proof and marks a yield of only 87 bottles. The 100% malted barley whiskey is distilled in Basalt, Colorado. Tasting notes include cinnamon and Fruit Stripe bubble gum on the nose; key lime pie, almond, and honey on the palate. It is priced at $124.98 plus tax and shipping.
Additional Inventory Available River Roots is also releasing limited quantities of customer bottle selections, including Built Different, a 14-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon at 140.64 proof ($274.98); Velvet Reins, an 8-year-7-month-old Kentucky rye finished in brandy barrel at 102.56 proof ($79.89); and Caribbean Colt, an 8-year-7-month-old Kentucky rye finished in rum barrel at 105.46 proof ($79.89).
