ProWein 2027 is launching a dedicated exhibitor format to surface emerging producers and alternative viticulture practices at the International Trade Fair for Wines and Spirits. The Discovery Zone, now accepting applications, targets first-time exhibitors seeking exposure to international buyers, sommeliers, retailers, importers, and trade media. The fair takes place March 7–9, 2027, in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Format and Structure Unlike traditional booth-based exhibitions, the Discovery Zone will feature an open-plan tasting and networking space. Participating producers present a curated selection of up to four wines and engage directly with industry professionals in a casual, conversation-focused environment. ProWein and industry partners will select participants based on alignment with the Discovery Zone concept and potential to introduce new perspectives to the international wine market—not on winery size or reputation. Participation is capped.

Who Can Apply Eligibility requires first-time ProWein participation, the vintner's personal presence for the entire three-day event, and presentation of no more than four wines. The €2,000 participation fee covers exhibition space with custom branding, furnishings, organizational support, and a listing in the exhibitor and product database, plus flat-rate media contribution.

Industry Focus The Discovery Zone will spotlight emerging topics shaping the wine industry: orange wine, regenerative viticulture, producers from non-traditional backgrounds, and PiWi grape varieties. The format aims to connect international buyers with distinctive producers and innovative styles they might otherwise miss. Applications are open at prowein.com/discover_en. Messe Düsseldorf North America can be reached at (312) 781-5180 or info@mdna.com.

Why It Matters

For wine importers, sommeliers, and specialty retailers, the Discovery Zone offers a curated pipeline to emerging producers and forward-looking styles—without the clutter of a sprawling trade show floor. For new wineries, entry at €2,000 with guaranteed media exposure lowers the barrier to breaking into international distribution.
