Vermont Information Processing (VIP) has launched VIP Intelligence™, an AI suite embedded directly into its existing beverage-industry platform — covering pricing, order prediction, demand planning, and conversational analytics across suppliers, distributors, and retailers in the three-tier system. The announcement marks the company's most significant technology push in its 50-year history and arrives as the broader beverage supply chain faces mounting pressure to automate manual workflows and sharpen forecasting accuracy.

Unlike general-purpose large-language-model tools grafted onto legacy software, VIP Intelligence is engineered around beverage-specific data structures: depletions, shipments, excise-tax compliance, SKU rationalization, and account-level sell-through. The suite does not operate as a standalone application; instead, intelligent capabilities are woven into the products distributor sales reps, supplier trade teams, and retailer buyers already operate daily.

The Product Lineup

Four capability areas are rolling out across 2026. AI-Powered Revenue Management inside PriceStream ingests supplier price changes and automates pricing draft creation, optimizing decisions across thousands of SKU-and-account variables — a task that has historically consumed hours of manual wholesaler labor. AI Predictive Order, embedded in the Connect eCommerce solution and the VIP Sales App, surfaces item-level order recommendations for each account before a sales call begins, giving distributor reps more time on relationship development rather than order-entry mechanics.

AI Reporting in iDIG converts complex depletion and shipment data into a conversational analytics interface: users query their own business data in plain language and receive instant reports, surfacing distribution gaps or velocity trends that might otherwise take days to extract. That feature is available in beta for all VIP customers now. Rounding out the launch, Demand Planning for Suppliers in OrderStream forecasts distributor order volumes before purchase orders arrive — including for new product launches with limited sales history — helping supplier supply-chain teams align production capacity and inventory to real anticipated demand rather than lagging actuals.

Leadership and Infrastructure

CEO Andrew Criezis, who joined VIP earlier in 2026, is leading the technology investment cycle. The company has engaged QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey to accelerate its AI strategy, and hosted an inaugural AI Week that brought nearly 1,000 employees through hands-on agentic AI training. VIP has also expanded dedicated AI teams and added new leadership across technology, people, and sales functions.

"VIP Intelligence represents the next era of beverage technology, and it's only possible because of the people behind it," said Andrew Criezis, CEO of VIP. "Together with our customers, we're helping lead the industry into an agentic AI future."

Additional AI-powered products — including a new supplier reporting offering — are slated for later in 2026. For distributors and suppliers evaluating where AI can compress cycle times and reduce out-of-stocks, the embedded approach matters: adoption friction drops when intelligence surfaces inside familiar workflows rather than requiring users to toggle between systems.

The launch arrives as beverage distributors face tightening margins across both beer and spirits distribution and non-alc and RTD segments, where route-to-market complexity and cold-chain requirements demand tighter forecasting. VIP's data footprint — spanning decades of depletion and shipment records across the three-tier system — gives its models a training base that no general-purpose AI tool currently replicates for this channel.
