Wine Sponsor Deepens SF Pride Commitment

Squealing Pig, a wine brand owned by Treasury Wine Estates, is returning as the official wine sponsor of San Francisco Pride 2026, extending a partnership announced last year. The 56th Annual San Francisco Pride Parade and Celebration will draw more than a million attendees to Civic Center Plaza on June 27-28.

The brand will operate a wine lounge throughout Pride weekend, offering tastings of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and California Rosé alongside "interactive photo opportunities, wine sampling, and branded giveaways," according to a statement. The activation will feature appearances by local drag queens.

Month-Long Event Calendar

Squealing Pig will sponsor multiple Pride-related events throughout June, beginning June 10 with "Built This City," a kickoff celebration at the Castro Theatre hosted by drag performers Peaches Christ and Honey Mahogany. Additional sponsored events include:

- June 23: Runway of Pride Fashion Show at GLIDE Memorial Church
- June 24: Legacy of Pride VIP reception at the Hilton Cityscape Lounge honoring Trans Thrive, the parade's organizational grand marshal
- June 25: Human Rights Summit at The Commonwealth Club and FIFA World Cup watch party at Yerba Buena Lane
- June 27-28: Main Pride celebration at Civic Center Plaza

Global LGBTQ+ Portfolio

Squealing Pig has supported LGBTQ+ events internationally since at least 2022, when it became the official wine supplier for Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. The brand also served as official wine for Sydney WorldPride in 2023, launched a "Summer of Love" campaign with Manchester Pride in the UK the same year, and supported SF Pride's "Pride for Breakfast" event in 2024 before deepening involvement in 2025.

"Last year, we made a statement by bringing Squealing Pig's unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community to the U.S. as a champion of joy, inclusivity, and authenticity," said Sarah Bakx, President of BOLD Brands, a Treasury Wine Estates division. "People weren't just stopping for a glass of wine; they came to connect, celebrate, and find their community. This year, we're showing up loudly, proudly and with the support of some of San Francisco's most beloved local talent."

Suzanne Ford, Executive Director of San Francisco Pride, framed the partnership within this year's theme: "This year's theme, 'Resistance in Action!,' is a courageous call to move beyond declaration and into practice. We're grateful to Squealing Pig for embodying exactly that."

Why It Matters

Brand activations at major cultural events like Pride provide venue operators and on-premise retailers insight into how CPG wine companies are allocating marketing budgets and targeting specific consumer segments. The multi-event sponsorship model—spanning kickoff events, fashion shows, summits, and the main celebration—demonstrates a sophisticated approach to experiential marketing beyond traditional point-of-sale placement.
