From TikTok Trend to Shelf-Ready Wine Sarah Jessica Parker and New Zealand's Invivo Winery are launching Invivo X, SJP Spicy Jalapeño White Wine, a Sauvignon Blanc infused with natural jalapeño and chili extracts. The product capitalizes on a viral social media trend of adding fresh jalapeño slices to white wine, packaging the hack into a ready-to-drink format. The wine carries a suggested retail price of $15.99 and will be available at select retailers nationwide, including H-E-B, Wine.com, Total Wine & More, and Binny's.

How It's Made Based on Invivo's award-winning Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, the new expression features crisp, tropical notes with a buildable heat. The 12.5% ABV wine contains natural jalapeño and chili extracts. Invivo co-founders Tim Lightbourne and winemaker Rob Cameron worked with Parker over months to balance the spice without overpowering the base wine. The pairing of Sauvignon Blanc and jalapeño is grounded in shared flavor compounds. Both contain pyrazines, which are responsible for green, herbaceous notes. Through trials, Cameron, Lightbourne, and Parker refined the use of natural jalapeño essences to enhance these characteristics.

Parker's Vision "Rob, Tim and I spent months getting the balance just right.

We wanted a wine with a little bit of heat, but never at the expense of the wine itself. It had to be something we'd genuinely want to pour for friends and have on our own table," says Parker. Parker recommends serving the wine ice-cold, straight from the fridge, or over ice with a splash of club soda and fresh jalapeño or tropical fruit garnish. She suggests pairing it with Tex-Mex, Vietnamese food, summer salads, chips and guacamole, or American classics—designed for poolside and warm-weather occasions. Cameron adds: "The idea was to build on the familiar flavor cues in Sauvignon Blanc and introduce a gentle, complementary heat on the palate. Jalapeño was a natural fit, thanks to its fresh, green notes. Sarah Jessica's palate has been hugely important in finding the right balance of heat throughout the process, and honestly, we nailed it!"

Portfolio Expansion The Spicy Jalapeño White Wine marks the first major-label New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc to bring the jalapeño trend to market as a ready-to-drink product, distinct from DIY versions. The launch builds on the Invivo X, SJP partnership, established in 2019. The flagship Sauvignon Blanc has earned more than 70 gold medals and consistent 90-point scores from Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, and James Suckling. The portfolio includes a French Rosé and New Zealand Pinot Noir. Invivo X, SJP wines are now available at more than 5,600 locations, including national chains and independent retailers.

Why It Matters

Fruit-forward flavored wines and low-ABV formats continue to attract casual wine drinkers and younger consumers. The conversion of a viral social-media trend into a branded, shelf-stable product demonstrates how wine producers are adapting to consumer experimentation and informal serving occasions—particularly in warm months.
