New Sugar-Free Flavor Expands Tennessee Brand's Reach Nashville Sweet Tea Co., the small-batch non-alcoholic tea brand brewed by TailGate Brewery, has added a sugar-free version to its lineup. The new product joins four existing flavors—Nashville Sweet Tea, Peach Tea, Sunshine Tea, and Nashville Lemonade—already distributed across Tennessee grocery stores and retailers. The sugar-free formula uses allulose as its sweetener and contains three core ingredients: organic black leaf tea, water, and allulose. It delivers zero calories while maintaining the brand's three-generation family recipe heritage. "Finding a real southern sweet tea in a package is nearly impossible. We wanted to solve that by sharing my actual family recipe, in cans," said Founder Wesley Keegan. "We think we do that right with the full sugar version, this is as good as you can find without real sugar. Zero calories. 3 ingredients: organic black leaf tea, water, and allulose." Keegan noted personal motivation behind the sugar-free entry. "Interestingly, I think I'm uniquely qualified to debut this product. My brother grew up a diabetic so while we always had real sweet tea, we also drank a lot of sugar free tea! This is made with allulose and the best sugar free version I've had."
Availability and Distribution The full Nashville Sweet Tea Co. range is available in single 16 oz. cans and 12-packs through online retailers for nationwide delivery, as well as at physical locations across Tennessee. TailGate Brewery operates nine taprooms across middle Tennessee and Chattanooga, including an outpost at Nashville International Airport. The company plans to expand into additional states in the near future. TailGate currently distributes exclusively in Tennessee but uses its taproom network and online channels to reach a broader audience.
Why It Matters
The sugar-free category continues to gain traction in non-alcoholic beverages as operators and retailers respond to consumer demand for lower-calorie options. Nashville Sweet Tea's expansion signals growing market opportunity for regional beverage brands in the craft tea space, particularly those leveraging heritage recipes and local production credentials.
