RTD Expansion Driven by Café Demand La Colombe is launching a ready-to-drink matcha latte line, extending its premium beverage portfolio beyond coffee. The Philadelphia-based brand will debut three variants—Everyday, Strawberry, and Vanilla Matcha Lattes—online September 29, with retail and café rollout beginning in October. The move reflects sustained consumer momentum. Matcha sales across La Colombe's cafés surged 188% between 2023 and 2025. New Google Trends data released this week shows matcha latte searches now lead seasonal beverage interest in 29 states nationally.

Product Specs and Distribution Each 11-ounce can contains 65mg of natural caffeine and is a good source of protein.

The beverages are crafted with single-origin matcha from Japan and lactose-free whole milk from Michigan. The lineup will be available online and at major retailers nationwide starting in late September.

Why It Matters

La Colombe's matcha entry signals RTD category momentum beyond coffee.

With matcha trending across foodservice and retail, operators should expect competitive intensity in premium RTD beverages as established coffee brands leverage existing distribution and supply-chain expertise to capture adjacent segments.
