California Wine Month Celebrations Highlight Sustainability Milestone DAOU Vineyards is marking California Wine Month in September and October with two exclusive Cabernet Sauvignon experiences available only at its DAOU Mountain tasting room. The releases coincide with the winery's first harvest since all three estate vineyards earned California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) certification.
Limited-Edition Three Sisters Release The 2022 Three Sisters Limited Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon will anchor the Discover DAOU Flight throughout September and October. Produced for a single vintage only, the wine was crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon grown on DAOU Mountain and aged for 22 months in 80% new French oak. "Bold, precise and built to age, the single-vintage release cannot be purchased online or found on retail shelves and is available only at the DAOU Mountain Tasting Room while supplies last." Guests purchasing one or more bottles will receive a complimentary gift, limited to one per purchase.
Rare Vertical Tasting Showcases Five Decades of Production From September 20 through October, DAOU will present a vertical tasting of Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon spanning vintages 2011 through 2015. This wine established the foundation for the winery's pursuit of world-class Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles when first produced. "Tasted together, the five vintages reveal the evolution of the wine across growing seasons while showcasing its depth, nuance and age-worthy character." Select library vintages will be available for purchase through the DAOU website.
Organic Certification Marks Stewardship Milestone The harvest carries added significance as the first since DAOU's three estate vineyards earned CCOF certification. The winery and vineyards also hold Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing (CCSW) certification. DAOU Mountain's tasting room operates daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. by reservation only. Reservations and tasting experiences can be booked at DAOUVineyards.com/visit.
Why It Matters
For wine-focused hospitality operators and retailers, DAOU's organic certification and limited-release strategy underscore how premium wine estates are differentiating through sustainability credentials and experiential tasting programs tied to harvest seasons. The vertical tasting format—increasingly popular with affluent consumers—drives higher average checks while building brand loyalty and education.
