Cathay Pacific has launched Betsy Free, a non-alcoholic beer developed in collaboration with Hong Kong craft brewery Gweilo Beer. The carrier says it is the first NA beer created by an airline. The beer is inspired by the free-spirited nature of Cathay Pacific's founders and blends a light malt base with bright yuzu lemon notes and a crisp, hoppy finish. Betsy Free is the non-alcoholic counterpart to Cathay Pacific's signature Betsy Beer.

Rollout Strategy Betsy Free is currently being trialed on Cathay Pacific's long-haul and ultra-long-haul flights, giving passengers another way to experience a taste of Hong Kong while airborne.

Why It Matters

The move reflects growing demand for premium non-alcoholic beverage options in premium cabin service.

As carriers compete on in-flight experience, NA offerings—particularly craft-oriented selections—represent a differentiation opportunity in a category historically dominated by soft drinks and juices.
