Cardinal du Four, an Armagnac producer drawing on 14th-century distillation heritage, is launching the first edition of its Lunar Zodiac Series this October with Year of the Horse Tierçon Cask Finish—a limited annual collector's release. The brand positions itself on Cardinal Vital du Four's documented writings from the 1300s, which contain what it describes as the earliest recorded evidence of distillation practices. The portfolio currently includes the 21 Rébellion, described as a blend of mature vintage Armagnacs, and Blanche Armagnac Vital 1310, positioned for mixology and haute cuisine applications. The Lunar Zodiac Series entry combines Armagnac with fine art and traditional cask finishing techniques. Additional portfolio details and release pricing have not yet been disclosed.
