Plymouth, Wis.-based Carbliss is converting its limited-edition Americana Backyard Bliss variety pack into a permanent portfolio entry, rebranded as the Backyard Bliss Pack, after velocity data and regional sales rankings made a compelling case for the spirit-based RTD's staying power.

The eight-pack, featuring Apple, Cherry, Grape, and Strawberry flavors at zero carbs, zero sugar, and 100 calories per can, will now roll out across all 23 states in Carbliss' distributor network with refreshed packaging stripped of its commemorative Americana branding.

The Velocity Numbers

For a limited-time offering, the Americana Backyard Bliss Pack generated unusually strong Circana reads. In the four weeks ending July 12, the SKU ranked #4 in velocity among spirit-based ready-to-drink cocktail items in Total U.S. Food — a channel benchmark where shelf placement and planogram position directly affect turn rates — despite sitting at just 22% ACV distribution. That gap between velocity rank and distribution depth is precisely the signal suppliers and wholesalers watch before greenlighting a permanent shelf slot; high velocity at low ACV suggests meaningful upside as distribution expands. The pack also posted multiple #1 rankings for sales, velocity, and year-over-year growth in key Midwest off-premise markets, including Wisconsin, Iowa, and the broader Plains region.

"The response to the Americana Backyard Bliss Pack exceeded our expectations," said Hannah Williamson, Data Analyst at Carbliss. "Its performance nationally, combined with the impact it made through our Sip for a Cause campaign, confirmed that this product deserved a permanent place in our portfolio."

Route-to-Market Context

Carbliss has built its distribution footprint through the three-tier system since its 2019 launch, now covering 23 states and more than 216 million cans sold to date. The brand earned back-to-back recognition as the #1 Food & Beverage Company on the Inc. 5000 list, a growth trajectory that has given it leverage in wholesaler conversations around shelf space and cold-chain priority for the RTD cocktail set. Transitioning the Backyard Bliss Pack from a limited run to a standing SKU simplifies the reorder process for distributor partners and gives off-premise retailers a stable item to slot into planograms rather than managing a one-cycle promotional pack.

Co-Founder Adam Kroener framed the permanence decision as a natural extension of what the product accomplished. "When we created the Americana Backyard Bliss Pack, our goal was to celebrate America in a meaningful way," Kroener said. "What we never could have imagined was the impact it would have."

Beyond the Shelf

The limited-edition run also served as a cause-marketing vehicle. Through Carbliss' Sip for a Cause campaign, sales of the Americana Backyard Bliss Pack helped raise more than $75,000 for Missions of Honor, a Wisconsin nonprofit that funds Honor Flights for veterans. On July 24, members of the Carbliss team joined Vietnam veterans on an Old Glory Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. The philanthropic component won't carry over under the Backyard Bliss name, but the brand's execution of a cause-tied limited SKU that graduated to a permanent item offers a replicable model for RTD suppliers evaluating how to test new flavor platforms with lower inventory risk.

The RTD cocktail category continues to be one of the fastest-growing segments in the three-tier system, with spirit-based formats — governed by distilled spirits regulations and often distributed through spirits wholesalers rather than beer distributors — gaining shelf share at the expense of malt-based hard seltzers. For Carbliss, locking in a second variety pack with proven velocity data strengthens its argument for additional facings as retailers rationalize their RTD sets heading into the fall reset cycle. Coverage of related RTD market trends and spirits distribution has tracked this category shift closely.
