Brugal Completes Three-Part Collection With Coconut Expression Brugal has announced Colección Visionaria Edición 03, Coconut—the final release in its limited-edition series. The ultra-premium Dominican rum, crafted by fifth-generation Maestra Ronera Jassil Villanueva Quintana, marks the conclusion of a three-part exploration into Dominican heritage. The expression retails for $69.99 and will be available at select retailers nationwide. The new release continues the Colección Visionaria series by toasting French Oak casks with Dominican coconuts, producing what the brand describes as a tropical rum with layered complexity. Only six batches will be distilled worldwide, with fewer than 35,000 bottles available globally.

Design and Production Details Each bottle is hand-sealed and personally signed by Villanueva Quintana, with batch numbers on the label. The bottles feature Brugal's iconic protective netting in navy blue, adapted specifically for the collection. The rum is bottled at 45% ABV and exhibits a bright amber-gold color. Tasting notes include creamy vanilla and burnt sugar on the nose, with hints of coconut water and toasted nuances. The palate shows bright citrus notes of orange peel, coconut water sweetness, vanilla, and caramel, finishing with lingering spice and soft sweetness.

Brand Context "Colección Visionaria was born from a desire to capture the beauty of my home, through 100% Dominican ingredients," says Jassil Villanueva Quintana. "For this final addition, I chose coconut because it is the rhythm of our island—from the shade of the palms to the ritual of coconut water shared among friends. In Colección Visionaria Edición 03, we have captured that warmth, creating a rum that is as much a tribute to our future as it is to our heritage." Brugal, founded in 1888, has operated for over 135 years as a Dominican rum producer. The Aromatic Cask Toasting technique used in this collection represents a process refined across five generations of master distillers.

Why It Matters

The limited-edition series strategy—with strict production caps and hand-signed bottles—positions Brugal's ultra-premium expression in a collectors' segment where scarcity and provenance drive retailer margins and brand prestige. The completion of the three-part collection may signal either a planned hiatus or shift in the brand's limited-edition strategy going forward.
