Unifying Spirits, the Pittsburgh-based creator of Boba POPS®, has moved its alcohol-filled popping boba platform into the RTD segment with the launch of Pop & Go™ — a four-SKU cocktail line packaged in a 12 oz punch-through cup at 8% ABV. The move takes a brand previously sold as a cocktail customization ingredient and repositions it as a finished, single-serve drink ready for off-premise planogram placement alongside mainstream RTD competitors.

Pop & Go™ launches in four flavors — Hard Strawberry Lemonade, Hard Blueberry Lemonade, Hard Peach Green Tea, and Hard Lychee Black Tea — each retailing at an SRP of $19.99 per 4-pack. The cups are engineered with a collapsible straw and a film top that consumers puncture to access the drink, replicating the tactile ritual of a traditional boba shop order. According to the company, the popping pearls remain shelf-stable within the finished cocktail through a patented fill process, eliminating cold-chain dependency during distribution.

Test Market & Route to Market

Initial distribution is live in Wisconsin, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Unifying Spirits is also running limited DTC online pop-up drops for consumers in shipping-eligible states ahead of a planned national rollout in 2027. That phased approach is a familiar playbook in the RTD segment — seed demand in defined markets, measure depletions, then press into broader wholesaler networks with sell-through data in hand. The brand's existing footprint — more than 6,000 retail doors across 34 states through accounts including ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, Kroger, and Albertsons — gives Unifying Spirits an established off-premise shelf relationship to leverage as it expands Pop & Go into new markets.

Manufacturing Capacity

A new Pittsburgh production facility, expected to open later in 2026, will house specialized cup-filling and sealing equipment sized for national volume. Building purpose-built capacity rather than relying on co-pack arrangements is a deliberate bet on margin control and supply-chain consistency — two pressure points that have tripped up RTD entrants trying to scale quickly through contract manufacturing. The facility will also produce Boba POPS® core SKUs, which are sold in 50 ml and 375 ml formats across eight flavor expressions.

"Boba POPS® has always been about creating a moment, not just a beverage," said Harmon Rozycki, COO of Boba POPS®. "With Pop & Go™, we're bringing that same interactive experience to the bev-alc space in a way that feels familiar, fun, and uniquely Boba POPS®."

At 8% ABV and approximately 275 calories and 29.5 grams of sugar per cup, Pop & Go sits at the higher end of the RTD alcohol-by-volume range — above the 5%–7% sweet spot that dominates hard seltzer and canned cocktail shelves, but in line with the premium single-serve tier where price points above $4 per unit are increasingly accepted. The RTD category has become one of the most contested in beverage alcohol, with suppliers across spirits, malt, and FMB vying for cold-vault real estate as on-premise traffic remains uneven. For a specialty ingredient brand breaking into the segment, the built-in novelty of popping pearls in a ready-to-drink format is a meaningful shelf-differentiation argument for distributor presentations and buyer sell-in.
