Blue Run Spirits has unveiled a limited-edition bottle design for its Kentucky Straight High Rye Bourbon Whiskey to commemorate the USA's 250th anniversary. The commemorative packaging features the brand's signature Viceroy butterfly hand-applied in navy with white star accents, set against the amber whiskey inside. Labels are printed in 22K gold ink, and a red-and-white striped tax strip tops the elegant cut glass bottle. "This release was designed to recognize a once-in-a-generation American milestone with a bottle suited to the occasion," said Susie McInerney, Sr. Marketing Manager, Blue Run Spirits. "From the star-accented butterfly to the 22K gold ink, every packaging detail was designed to feel intentional, collectible, and unmistakably Blue Run."
Product Specifications The High Rye expression is bottled at 111 proof and uses a higher rye content for heat and depth.
The brand notes tasting notes of praline, orange peel, brown sugar, and nuttiness on the palate, finishing with herbal white tea, peach, and clove. The whiskey has earned Platinum at the ASCOT Awards, Platinum at the TAG Global Spirits Competition, and Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Availability and Price The 750ml bottles will retail for $89.99 in 13 markets: California, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
Why It Matters
Commemorative and collectible packaging has become a key driver of premiumization in the spirits category.
Limited-edition releases with enhanced design elements—particularly those tied to cultural milestones—create scarcity value and attract both core consumers and gift-buyers, strengthening shelf position during peak seasonal demand periods.
